York, 1984). We have also relied on Hougan's version of the Russell-Leon-Bellino subplot described
below. Hougan's book, although it studiously avoids drawing obvious conclusions about Bush, Kissinger,
Rockefeller, and many others, is a convenient starting point for the necessary metacritique of Watergate.
By contrast, the Colodny-Gettlin Silent Coup (New York, 1991) represents a step backward, away from the
truth of the matter on numerous points.
