You can also flip a path outline either horizontally or vertically. Use the Flip<br />

Horizontally>Path or Flip Vertically>Path option from the Image menu,<br />

respectively.<br />

To create a selection from a path:<br />

1. Select the Background or standard layer where you want to create the<br />

selection.<br />

2. On the Paths tab, select the path from which you want to create the selection.<br />

3. Click the Path to Selection button (or right-click the path entry).<br />

4. In the dialog, set options for the selection:<br />

• The Feather value blurs the selection's edges by making edge pixels semitransparent.<br />

• Check Antialias to produce smooth edges by softening the colour transition<br />

between edge pixels and background pixels.<br />

• Select New Selection, Add to Selection, Subtract from Selection, or<br />

Intersect with Selection to determine how the path-based selection should<br />

interact with an existing selection, if any.<br />

5. Click OK. The selection marquee appears on the target layer.<br />

To draw (stroke) a path onto a bitmap layer:<br />

1. Select the Background or standard layer where you want to add the bitmap.<br />

2. Choose a brush tool (such as the Paintbrush or Picture Brush) and set Colour,<br />

Brush Tip, and other properties from the Context toolbar.<br />

3. On the Paths tab, select the path you want to stroke. Make sure the path is<br />

positioned where you want it.<br />

4. Click the Stroke Path button.<br />

To create a filled bitmap from a path:<br />

1. Select the Background or standard layer where you want to create the filled<br />

bitmap.<br />

2. Set a foreground colour.<br />

3. On the Paths tab, select the path you want to fill. Make sure the path is<br />

positioned where you want it.<br />

4. Click the Fill Path button (or right-click the path and choose Fill Path).
