114 Image Adjustments and Effects
Whatever settings are changed, the image will be adjusted automatically to reflect
the new settings.
An adjustment is applied if a button appears at the end of the adjustment
entry (click the button to remove the adjustment completely). If you want to
temporarily hide an adjustment, click on the Show/Hide button next to the
adjustment entry; your settings will be remembered when you switch the
adjustment back on.
A series of display buttons under your preview window let you preview your
image.
From left to right, you can display in a single window, or either as
portrait/landscape dual-screen or vertical/horizontal split-screen for before and
after views. For further control of your display, use the lower-right Navigator
window to Zoom to Fit, view Actual Size, or incrementally zoom via buttons or
slider. By default, you'll be able to pan around your zoomed-in image with the
hand cursor at any time.
Here's a quick overview of all the adjustments hosted in QuickFix Studio:
• Lens Distortion
Fixes barrelling and pincushion distortion encountered when photographing
straight-edged objects at close range (with changeable grid spacing and
colour).
• Chromatic Aberration
Reduces red/cyan or blue/yellow fringing on object edges.
• Lens Vignette
Removes darkening in photo corners.
• Straighten
Re-aligns slightly or wildly crooked photos by resetting the image's horizon!
Uses an optional alignment grid (with changeable spacing and colour).
• Crop
Retains a print-size portion of your image while discarding the remainder.
Great for home printing, then framing. Optionally, size an unconstrained
selection area to crop.
