38 Understanding the Workspace
If you’re using a wheel mouse, you can simply use the wheel to change the
zoom setting.
To restore a 1:1 zoom ratio:
• Choose Normal Viewing from the View menu.
To fit the image in the main PhotoPlus window:
• Choose Zoom to Fit from the View menu.
To pan:
• Choose the Pan Tool from the Standard toolbar.
Drag the zoomed-in image to move it in relation to its window. For multiple
images, a Scroll All Windows check box on the Context toolbar lets you pan
around side-by-side images at the same time.
Using screen layout tools
To hide or show the rulers:
• Check or uncheck Rulers on the View menu.
As an aid to precise alignment and spacing,
PhotoPlus gives you the option of displaying
horizontal and vertical rulers, a set of blue grid
lines spaced according to ruler gradations,
and/or moveable, horizontal or vertical red
guide lines (a single vertical guide is shown at
75 pixels). With snapping enabled, objects and
selections align with the grid, guides, and/or
document edges. The Measure tool works like
an instant ruler that lets you determine onscreen
pixel distances.
With the rulers turned on, you can track the current cursor position by watching
the small black triangular markers that appear along the edges.
