4. The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will review shoreline<br />
plans and comprehensive plans for bank erosion mitigation strategies<br />
and will make recommendations to local government on bank<br />
stabilization strategies for inclusion within the Shoreline Master<br />

H-3b: Stream bank erosion in <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong> along the tributaries to the Pend Oreille River is<br />
resulting in degraded riparian habitat and water quality. The causes <strong>of</strong> stream bank erosion<br />
need to be confirmed and mitigated.<br />
Management Action SEPA Analysis<br />
1. The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will develop a scope <strong>of</strong><br />
work for a technical study to identify the causes <strong>of</strong> stream bank<br />
erosion along the tributaries to the Pend Oreille River in <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong>.<br />
The study will include review <strong>of</strong> prioritization <strong>of</strong> areas where there is<br />
more interest / concern and will identify mitigation / stabilization<br />
alternatives.<br />
2. The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will develop and<br />
implement a public education program to improve public<br />
understanding <strong>of</strong> bank erosion along the tributaries to the Pend<br />
Oreille River.<br />
3. The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will compile reasonable<br />
stream bank stabilization strategies for landowners along the<br />
tributaries to the Pend Oreille River and provide education and<br />
