4. Develop water quality datasets that are comparable between <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong><br />

waterbodies;<br />

5. Conduct water quality monitoring in sub-basins where population growth<br />

is predicted;<br />

6. Develop and implement a stormwater program for urban areas;<br />

7. Recommend <strong>Ecology</strong> upgrade the Metaline Falls monitoring site to a<br />

core monitoring location;<br />

8. Increase the use <strong>of</strong> coordinated and comparable biological monitoring;<br />

9. Require the use <strong>of</strong> water quality monitoring plans, Quality Assurance<br />

Project Plans (QAPPs) and comparable protocols;<br />

10. Develop a <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong> data management system; and,<br />

11. Install freeze protection on automated equipment in <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong> tributaries.<br />

WQUAL 5-5 Recommend that Pend Oreille County consider any ordinances that may help<br />

reduce the impacts <strong>of</strong> population growth on water quality (e.g., aquifer recharge<br />

areas in critical areas ordinance).
