Management Action(s):<br />
WQUAL 1-1 The Watershed Planning Unit recommends that the Kalispel Tribe enter <strong>WRIA</strong><br />
<strong>62</strong> water quality data into the Joint Stock Assessment Program (JSAP) database.<br />
The Watershed Planning Unit also recommends that the Kalispel Tribe maintain<br />
the JSAP database and ensure that the data are available via the internet.<br />
WQUAL 1-2 The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will identify committed entities to<br />
submit water quality monitoring data on a regular basis to the Kalispel Tribe for<br />
incorporation into the JSAP database.<br />
WQUAL 1-3 The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will define a <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong> monitoring<br />
and reporting protocol and will coordinate data to be submitted to the Kalispel<br />
Tribe for incorporation into the JSAP database.<br />
WQUAL 1-4 The Watershed Planning Implementing Body will keep up to date with water<br />
quality monitoring and protection activities within <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong>.<br />
3.2.2 WQUAL-2<br />
Problem <strong>State</strong>me nt: Eurasian watermilfoil and other aquatic nuisance weeds pose a threat to native<br />
habitat and public safety in the Pend Oreille watershed.<br />
Goal: Reduce Eurasian watermilfoil and other aquatic nuisance weeds in <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong>.<br />
Statute Justification: RCW 90.82.090(2).<br />
Management Action(s):<br />
WQUAL 2-1 With Pend Oreille County Weed Board as the lead agency, convene an aquatic<br />
plant management group and include members <strong>of</strong> the Watershed Planning<br />
Implementing Body who wish to be involved. This aquatic plant management<br />
group will identify and agree upon actions to reduce Eurasian watermilfoil and<br />
other aquatic nuisance weeds in <strong>WRIA</strong> <strong>62</strong>. Contingent upon available funding,<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> these actions and effectiveness monitoring will be supported<br />
by the Implementing Body during Phase IV <strong>of</strong> Watershed Planning. Support by<br />
the Implementing Body could include the use <strong>of</strong> implementation funds, grant<br />
monies or other outside funds.<br />
WQUAL 2-2 The Watershed Planning Unit recommends that the Pend Oreille County Weed<br />
Board establish and implement an aquatic nuisance weed public outreach and<br />
education program.<br />

The following action, which is included in the Interim Integrated Aquatic Plant<br />
Management Plan (Pend Oreille County, 2003), has been identified by the WPU<br />
to be implemented by the Pend Oreille County Weed Board:<br />
a. Prepare and distribute public education materials (e.g., signs, leaflets, fliers)<br />
to educate residents and visitors on how they can prevent the spread <strong>of</strong><br />
aquatic invasive plants. Review available public outreach and education
