Communication via HTTPS would require additional measures and configuration
changes including the following:
• Considering port 443 in addition to port 80
• Changes to the router and Web Server configuration
• Authentication certificates for the Web Server

Preventing Remote Access
The following information applies to environments in which ORIS Press
Matcher⁄⁄Web is used on the local computer only.
For security reasons you may want to block any remote access in such
environments, i.e. access to the ORIS Press Matcher⁄⁄Web Server via
local network or Internet.
To do so, edit the configuration file of the Apache Web Server:
1. Locate the Apache configuration file httpd.conf. It resides in the
directory …\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\conf\.
2. Make a backup copy of this file.
Note that there are backup copies created automatically in the same
directory (with additions to the file name such as _old).
3. Open httpd.conf with a text editor such as Notepad. Do not use a
word processing system such as Word.
4. Search for the text Listen 80. Replace it with Listen 127.0.0.1:80.
5. Close and save the configuration file.
6. Stop and restart the Apache service.
Now the Apache service will no longer respond to requests coming in
from the network.
