Linearization via Densitometric Measurements

The Recalibration Wizard opens the LINEARIZATION BY DENSITIES dialog
(see Fig. 19-3). Use it to create a linearization file by measuring density.
1. We recommend to select the *.DEN file you have saved when the
printer was linearized for the first time. Click LOAD to do so.
This will load the CMYK percentage values to be measured. The target
values are calculated automatically according to the Yule-Nielson
formula.
2. Click the MEASURE PRINTED COLOR PATCHES button.

3. Click OK, NEXT to start the measuring process and follow the instructions
on the screen. The measurements are transmitted directly from
the spectrophotometer to ORIS Press Matcher⁄⁄Web.
If no measurement device is connected, you can enter the values into
the box that appears at the top right. Click OK, NEXT to select the next
CMYK value. Click or to step through all CMYK values.
4. Select OK to close the dialog when the measuring process has completed.
You are back in the LINEARIZATION BY DENSITIES dialog.
5. The solid densities are automatically reduced to those defined by the
reference printer profile (RFP file). These values are displayed under
USER DEFINED.
