19 Recalibration To calibrate a toner-based PostScript printer, it is usually sufficient to use the printer’s internal calibration function (see page 1-3). This chapter is only relevant if ORIS Press Matcher⁄⁄Web’s iterative printer calibration method has been used instead (see page 16-9). About Recalibration http://www.image2output.com Recalibration is required if a printer’s color reproduction characteristics have changed over time. Such changes can be caused by various factors including fluctuations in ambient climate conditions (temperature, humidity), change of consumables (ink, paper), or general aging processes (e.g. print head wear). Using the Recalibration Wizard you can conveniently repeat the linearization and iterative printer calibration process. Switching to Advanced User Level 1. Select FILE | PREFERENCES to open the PREFERENCES dialog. 2. Click on the GENERAL tab. 3. Enable the option ADVANCED.
