ABSTRACT:<br />

Citizens are showing concern about water. As<br />

an example, over 1,300 complaints were atten<strong>de</strong>d<br />

by the Consultancy service at the OCU in 2007<br />

alone and over 200 complaints were received by<br />

the organisation within three months of a special<br />

section being set up in our web site www.ocu.org<br />

(report: Consumers and water).<br />

The aspects of quality, supply <strong>de</strong>ficiency, tariffs,<br />

the lack of precautionary measures for emergency<br />

situations and a lack of information, for example,<br />

are things that are of concern to us.<br />

RESÚMENES<br />

If we wish to achieve good management of our<br />

water resources, water policy should be un<strong>de</strong>rtaken<br />

in a coordinated way via a coordinating body that<br />

would establish homogeneous directives to govern<br />

and control the <strong>de</strong>gree of achievement or implementation<br />

across the whole of the nation. However,<br />

above all, we must avoid submitting water management<br />

in our cities to temporary strategies that<br />

change every time there is a change in legislature.
