Mientras Brando, al que Capote en un momento califica de
“monologist”, continúa hablando. Truman, por su parte, pasa a recordar el
primer encuentro que tuvo con el actor. Según Truman, el encuentro se
produjo en una tarde de invierno de 1947 en Nueva York cuando asistió al
estreno de A Streetcar NamedDesire de T. Williams.AI concluir la obra es
cuando Truman y Marlon coincidieron. Dice Truman que en los nueve
años que han transcurrido Marlon Brando había cambiado mucho ya que
“his body was titicker, his forehead was higher, for his hair was titinner; he
was richer”
