Como muestra <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> veracidad <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong>s anteriores afirmaciones y <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong><br />
re<strong>la</strong>ción <strong>de</strong> Fouts con Truman Capote po<strong>de</strong>mos citar en este punto <strong>la</strong>s<br />
opiniones <strong>de</strong> George Plimpton y <strong>de</strong> Gore Vidal. Con el<strong>la</strong>s po<strong>de</strong>mos<br />
observar <strong>la</strong> autobiografia que el autor enmascara en forma <strong>de</strong> su re<strong>la</strong>ción<br />
con Fouts. Según Plimpton<br />
“At the otiter end of tite scale of Truman’s<br />
acquaintace in Paris... was Denitam Fouts, a faseinating<br />
figure, a male whore, a kind of dark angel of the Paris<br />
nighttime streets, and who had been - as rumor had it - so<br />
entranced by the famous book jacket photograph of Truman<br />
reclining on tite sofa that he itad sent him a b<strong>la</strong>nk check with<br />
the single word on it: “Come”. Truman went to see him a<br />
few times in a darkened bedroom in his apartment on the<br />
Rue du Bac. The re<strong>la</strong>tionship was apparently asexual,<br />
Fouts’s libido having been <strong>de</strong>stroyed by drugs, op¡um in<br />
particu<strong>la</strong>r. Truman read to him and listened to his stories.”<br />

Gore Vidal, por su parte, muestra una parte <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> historia <strong>de</strong> Fouts<br />
que Capote, por otro <strong>la</strong>do, escribe <strong>de</strong> igual forma en Answered Prayers.<br />
<strong>La</strong>s pa<strong>la</strong>bras <strong>de</strong> Gore Vidal aparecen igualmente en el libro <strong>de</strong> George<br />
Plimpton<br />
