POWER-UP/COMMISSIONING<br />
This Section deals with the following:<br />
How to check and prepare the Soft-Starter before up.<br />
How to up and check if the power-up has been succesful.<br />
<br />
How to operate the Soft-Starter according to the combination<br />
drives "A" and "B" after it has been installed. (See<br />
Electrical Installation).<br />
The Soft-Starter shall be installed according to the Section 3 -<br />
Installation. If the driving design is different from the<br />
suggested combination drives "A" and "B", you must follow<br />
the procedures below:<br />
4.1 - POWER-UP<br />
PREPARATIONS<br />
DANGER!<br />
Disconnect always the power system before making any<br />
connection<br />
1) Check all connections<br />
Check if all power, grounding and control connections<br />
are correct and well tightened.<br />
2) Clean the inside of the Soft-Starter<br />
Remove all material residues from inside of the Soft-<br />
Starter.<br />
3) Check the motor<br />
Check all motor connections and verify if its voltage,<br />
current and frequency meet the Soft-Starter ones. Check<br />
if the Soft-Starter has been connected correctly: standard<br />
connection or connection within the motor delta<br />
connection.<br />
4) Mechanically decouple the load from the motor<br />
If the motor cannot be decoupled, be sure that the<br />
direction of rotation (forward, reverse) cannot cause<br />
damage to the machine or person.<br />
5) Close the Soft-Starter covers<br />
