7 MAINTENANCE<br />
7.2.1 - CLEANING IN-<br />
STRUCTIONS<br />
When it is necessary to clean the Soft-Starter folow these<br />
guidelines:<br />
a) Cooling system:<br />
Switch OFF Soft-Starter power supply.<br />
Remove all the dust located on the ventilation openings<br />
of the enclosure using a plastic brush or flannel.<br />
Remove all the dust accumulated on the heatsink fins<br />
and fans using compressed air.<br />
b)Printed circuit boards (PCBs):<br />
Switch OFF Soft-Starter power supply.<br />
Remove all the dust or moisture accumulated on the<br />
board using a anti-static brush and/or a compressed air<br />
ion gun (ex: charger buster ion gun (non-nuclear) Ref.<br />
A6030-6 from DESCO). If necessary remove PCBs from<br />
the Soft-Starter.<br />
7.3 - CHANGING<br />
SUPPLY FUSE<br />
1. Disconnect power supply of the Soft-Starter.<br />
DANGER!<br />
Disconnect always the supply voltage before attempting to<br />
service any electric component of the Soft-Starter.<br />
Even after switching OFF the Soft-Starter, during a certain<br />
time high voltages may be present. Thus wait 3 minutes to<br />
allow a complete discharge of the power capacitors.<br />
2. Open the enclosure of the Soft-Starter.<br />
3. Find the fuse on the board CCS3 and replace it by the type<br />
specified in the spare parts list.<br />
4. Close the Soft-Starter.<br />
