ABSTRACT<br />
The literary work of <strong>Orlando</strong> <strong>da</strong> <strong>Costa</strong> is currently one of the few, in<br />
Portuguese language, to drive us through the social and human conflicts of Goan<br />
society during the salazarismo.<br />
Literary critics consi<strong>de</strong>r his style of writing compelling and informing,<br />
sublime qualities in a work of intense <strong>de</strong>monstration of i<strong>de</strong>ological and human<br />
values. To highlight those literary qualities and i<strong>de</strong>ntify others was one of our<br />
objectives.<br />
O Signo <strong>da</strong> Ira, O Último Olhar <strong>de</strong> Manú Miran<strong>da</strong>, and Sem Flores Nem<br />
Coroas <strong>de</strong>epen and explore the memorie of the Portuguese colonial history in<br />
India. The present thesis aims at showing the historical-social importance of this<br />
triple work of fiction about Goa that the writer left us.<br />
