The best example might be Brazil due to thefavourable geographical placement. Thanks that this country may become a leader inalternative energy market and be an example for Poland. This article presents: the hardstate of Polish biofuel / bioethanol (agricultural distilleries) and the significant positionof Brazilian biofuel. Biofuel are produced from crops such as sugar cane and soybeanswhich grow in Brazil where they have ideal conditions for development. That mayhave beneficial influence on a country’s balance of trade thanks to intensive export ofbiofuel. The chance for polish agricultural distilleries might be the cooperation withthe Brazilian energy tycoon Petrobras with whom the polish alternative sector mightsign contracts on bioethanol production.Translated by Agnieszka Wójcik-Sztandera
