[3] Dhammābhithutiü Praise For Buddha's Teaching<br />

Handa mayaü dhammābhithutiü karomase. Now let us give high praise to the Dhamma:<br />

(ALL:)<br />

[Yo so svākkhāto] bhagavatā dhammo, The Dhamma well-expounded by the Blessed One,<br />

sandiññhiko akāliko ehipassiko, to be seen here & now, timeless, inviting all to come & see,<br />

opanayiko paccattaü veditabbo viññūhi, leading inward, to be seen by the wise for themselves:<br />

tam ahaü dhammaü abhipūjayāmi,<br />

tam ahaü dhammaü sirasā namāmi.<br />

(LEADER:)<br />

(PROSTRATE 1 TIME)<br />

I worship most highly that Dhamma,<br />

To that Dhamma I bow my head down.<br />

[3] Saïghābhithutiü Praise For The Saïgha<br />

Handa mayaü saïghābhithutiü karomase. Now let us give high praise to the Saïgha:<br />

(ALL:)<br />

[Yo so supañipanno] bhagavato sāvaka-saïgho, The Saïgha of the Blessed One’s disciples who have practiced well,<br />

uju-pañipanno bhagavato sāvaka-saïgho, the Saïgha of the Blessed One’s disciples who have practiced<br />

straightforwardly,<br />

ñāya-pañipanno bhagavato sāvaka-saïgho, the Saïgha of the Blessed One’s disciples who have practiced methodically,<br />

sāmīci-pañipanno bhagavato sāvaka-saïgho, the Saïgha of the Blessed One’s disciples who have practiced masterfully,<br />

yad idaü cattāri purisa-yugāni aññha purisa-puggalā; i.e., the four pairs − the eight types − of Noble Ones:<br />

esa bhagavato sāvaka-saïgho āhuneyyo pāhuneyyo That is the Saïgha of the Blessed One’s disciples − worthy of gifts, worthy of<br />

dakkhiõeyyo añjali-karaõīyo,<br />

hospitality, worthy of offerings, worthy of respect,<br />

anuttaraü puññakkhettaü lokassa; the incomparable field of merit for the world:<br />

tam ahaü saïghaü abhipūjayāmi,<br />

I worship most highly that Saïgha,<br />

tam ahaü [4] saïghaü sirasā namāmi.<br />

To that Saïgha I bow my head down.<br />
