Dispassioned their minds toward further becoming,<br />

They, with no seed, no desire for growth,<br />

The wise, they go out like this flame.<br />

This, too, is an exquisite treasure in the Saïgha.<br />

By this truth may there be well-being.<br />

Whatever (non-human) beings are assembled here,<br />

terrestrial or celestial,<br />

come let us salute the Buddha, the Tathāgata (the perfect One), honored by<br />

gods and men. May there be happiness.<br />

Whatever beings are assembled here<br />

terrestrial or celestial,<br />

come let us salute the perfect Dhamma,<br />

honored by gods and men. May there be happiness.<br />

Whatever beings are assembled here<br />

terrestrial or celestial,<br />

This is to be done by one skilled in aims<br />

Who wants to break through to the state of peace:<br />

Be capable, upright, & straightforward,<br />

Easy to instruct, gentle, & not conceited,
