XI/ON: Gateways for Modbus TCP 8 Guidelines for Electrical Installation 8.3 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) XI/ON products comply in full with the requirements pertaining to EMC regulations. Nevertheless, an EMC plan should be made before installation. Hereby, all potential electromechanical sources of interference should be considered such as galvanic, inductive and capacitive couplings as well as radiation couplings. 8.3.1 Ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility The EMC of XI/ON modules is guaranteed when the following basic rules are adhered to: Correct and large surface grounding of inactive metal components. Correct shielding of cables and devices. Proper cable routing – correct wiring. Creation of a standard reference potential and grounding of all electrically operated devices.
