B. Supporting Studies<br />

Yang et al. (1989) studied the in vivo systemic absorption in rats of BaP in soil,<br />

<strong>for</strong>tified with petroleum crude oil (1 percent (w/w)) to which 3 H-BaP was added.<br />

The soil, which consisted of 46 percent sand, 18 percent clay and 36 percent silt,<br />

with an organic content of 1.6 percent, was sieved to a particle size
