- The technique can be applied without the use of sophisticated support
equipment and is readily field implementable. Operator interpretation
is minimized through the use of a multiple A-scan format for recording
inspection data.
Contact inspection of girth welds using focused beams is subject to the
same problems with weld bead geometry encountered during standard
ultrasonic inspections.
