The neutron techniques are straightforward and well understood. The
penetrating nature of neutron beams allows examination of real components from
all angles, and the scale of neutron equipment is commensurate with the size
and weight of large components such as pipeline and rail steel. Our first
experiments have been on topics of interest to the nuclear industry, but the
extremely detailed information that we have obtained suggest a much wider
domain of usefulness in the future.
