ig. 9.20(c): Zero-sequence network of Example 9.10.
EXERCISE 9
9.1 The line currents in a three phase system are:
Ia = 72. 1 337 . ° , Ib = 82. 46 166°
, Ic = 6324 . – 7156 . °
Calculate the symmetrical components of current.
Ans: Ia1 = (6.9 – j8.87), Ia2 = (53 + j48.8), Ia0 = 0
9.2 The voltage of a three phase system are Va = (4 +j2), Vb = (4 – j4), Vc = (–2 + j8). Calculate the
symmetrical components of the voltage.
Ans: Va1 = (4.46 + j1.74), Va2 = (–2.46 – j1.730), Va0 = (2 + j2)
9.3 The voltages of a three phase system are Van = –36, Vbn = j48, Vcn = 64 respectively and the
currents in corresponding lines are Ia = (–4 + j2), Ib = (–1 + j5), Ic = (5 – j3) respectively. Determine
the negative sequence power and reactive volt amperes. The sequence is abc.
Ans: –34w, –24 VAr.
9.4 Draw the positive, negative and zero-sequence networks of the sample power system shown in ig.
9.21.
