Automatic Generation Control: Conventional Scenario 331
ig. 12.22 shows the dynamic responses for Df1, Df2, DPtie,12, DPg1 and DPg2 with and without
considering integral controller. ollowing parameters were used for plotting ig. 12.22,
R1 = R2 = 2.40 Hz/pu MW, Kp1 = Kp2 = 120 Hz/pu MW, Tp1 = Tp2 = 20 secs, Tg1 = Tg2 = 0.08 sec,
Tt1 = Tt2 = 0.30 sec, T12 = 0.0866,
a12 = – 1.0, DPL1 = 0.01 pu MW
DPL2 = 0.0, KI1 = KI2 = 0.67.
rom ig. 12.22, it is seen that with integral control action D f1 , D f2 and D Ptie,12 are setting
to zero for a step load disturbance in area-1. Note that without integral control, load increase
in area-1 is equally shared by both the units, i.e. DPg1 = DPg2 = 0.50 DPL1 = 0.005 pu MW. With
integral control action DPg1 = DPL1 = 0.01 pu MW and DPg2 = 0.0.
