SUSTAiNABiLiTY AT <strong>PUMA</strong><br />

As a leading Sportlifestyle company we<br />

have the opportunity, and the responsibility,<br />

to contribute to a better world, now and for<br />

the generations to come. Our sustainability<br />

concept, <strong>PUMA</strong>Vision, along with our 4Keys<br />

– Fair, Honest, Positive and Creative – guides<br />

us on our way to put this vision of a better<br />

world into practice.<br />

Through our <strong>PUMA</strong>Vision program pUMa.<br />

Safe we continuously strive to improve the<br />

social, working and environmental conditions<br />

both at our s<strong>up</strong>plier factories around<br />

the world and within <strong>PUMA</strong>’s own operations.<br />

And we develop and produce an increasing<br />

amount of more sustainable products to<br />

continue minimizing both our own and our<br />

consumers’ environmental footprints.<br />

We enhance, unleash and foster creativity<br />

within the artist world and film industry<br />

through pUMa.Creative as we as a designdriven<br />

company think that creativity is indispensible<br />

in this world and brings about a<br />

power to change things for the better.<br />

<strong>PUMA</strong>.Peace is an initiative that uses an<br />

array of programs to foster a more peaceful<br />

world than the one we know today. pUMa.<br />

peace makes sports equipment donations<br />

as we think that sports has the power to<br />

overcome hostile boundaries, bringing people<br />

together in peace. We also engage in<br />

educational and marketing campaigns to<br />

raise peace awareness.<br />

However, while we do a lot, we know we<br />

are not perfect. We have achieved numerous<br />

milestones during the past years on our<br />

mission to become the most desirable and<br />

sustainable Sportlifestyle company in the<br />

world. But we are not there yet. We have a<br />

lot of work in front of us to make our s<strong>up</strong>plier<br />

factories more decent places to work and to<br />

continue mitigating <strong>PUMA</strong>’s environmental<br />

footprint, developing more sustainable products<br />

and engaging our consumers into our<br />

sustainability initiatives.<br />

SUSTAiNABiLiTY SCORECARD 2015<br />

The <strong>PUMA</strong> Sustainability Scorecard 2015,<br />

which was announced in 2009 and has 2010<br />

as a baseline year, highlights the key sustainability<br />

targets for <strong>PUMA</strong>. It not only<br />

highlights a 25 percent reduction target for<br />

main environmental key performance indicators<br />

such as CO2, water and waste by<br />

2015, but also emphasizes our focus on environmental<br />

accounting through our Environmental<br />

Profit & Loss Account, a waste<br />

reduction through biodegradable and recyclable<br />

products, an ambitious target to have<br />

50 percent of all international collections<br />

meet our <strong>PUMA</strong> Sustainability Index and,<br />

perhaps most importantly, 90 percent of our<br />

products will be delivered by s<strong>up</strong>plier factories<br />

that achieved a good or very good result<br />

within our auditing program for social, labor<br />

and basic environmental standards.<br />

A progress <strong>up</strong>date on the implementation of<br />

our Sustainability Scorecard targets is given<br />

throughout the <strong>PUMA</strong>Vision chapter for<br />

individual targets.<br />

During the year 2012 we worked on <strong>up</strong>dating<br />

our Sustainability Scorecard to include<br />

further social and corporate governance<br />
