There is also an aeolian sand dune within this area which should be exempt from<br />
future development due to high potential sensitivity for indigenous cultural heritage<br />
issues.<br />
Therefore, the slopes near Lower Duneed Road are precluded from <strong>urban</strong><br />
development. The current rural zoning will maintain the existing agricultural value<br />
<strong>of</strong> the land. The Farming Zone will ensure that the land is not further subdivided<br />
beyond the lot size specified in the schedule to the zone and, importantly, prevent<br />
any serial excisions eroding the primary agricultural purpose <strong>of</strong> the zone. The<br />
Farming Zone will have greater control over the use and development <strong>of</strong> land. This<br />
will enable the protection <strong>of</strong> the existing rural character <strong>of</strong> the area.<br />
5.5 URBAN-RURAL INTERFACES<br />
A number <strong>of</strong> issues need to be considered in relation to the interface between<br />
<strong>urban</strong> and non-<strong>urban</strong> land. Table 5.1 overleaf sets out the key issues, potential<br />
problems, contributory factors and potential solutions.<br />
