ECC NURSE CO-ORDINATOR OR SENIOR NURSE<br />

• Arrange re-allocation or recall <strong>of</strong> staff, (including SSA and PSC’S, nursing,<br />

social workers, psychiatric clinical nurse consultant, pastoral care and volunteer<br />

workers).<br />

• Give staff list to PSC. Full medical, nursing and ancillary staff list kept in<br />

Emergency Director’s copy <strong>of</strong> hospital emergency procedures manual.<br />

• Organise disaster triage station in Ambulance Bay.<br />

• Access disaster admission packs kept in disaster cupboard. (Contents in<br />

Appendix 2)<br />

• Distribute Action Cards & Triage Labels.<br />

• Ensure resuscitation rooms and equipment are adequately stocked and staffed.<br />

• Deputise staff to the Primary Care Clinic for minor injuries (After hours minor<br />

injuries to be triaged to the waiting room).<br />

• Open emergency <strong>of</strong>fice area and deputise pastoral care, clerical staff medical<br />

students or volunteers to attend telephone calls for patient inquiries. The<br />

telephone extension numbers are: 4388, 4387, 4386, 4385 and 4384.<br />

• These staff will have access to computer terminals and will be able to assess<br />

whether a patient is registered and their triage type.<br />

• Request extra staff from other Care Centre Nurse Unit Managers.<br />
