STAFF DEBRIEFING<br />
• Non-Compulsory - Always <strong>of</strong>fered, but should not be compulsory<br />
• Non-Operational - Opportunity for ventilation & peer support (The<br />
Operational Debriefing can occur later in a different setting)<br />
• Inform “STAR” Co-ordinator via switchboard (To initiate critical incident stress<br />
management)<br />
1. Initial defusing<br />
2. Later debriefing, possible counselling if required<br />
3. Demobilisation<br />
Operational debriefing should be addressed in a different setting at a later time.<br />
HOSPITAL RECOVERY<br />
Staff Recovery<br />
• Senior medical and nursing staff to reorganise rosters & leave as appropriate<br />
Equipment Recovery<br />
• Early restocking <strong>of</strong> department equipment.<br />
• Disaster Cupboard Kits and Disaster Admission Packs to be rechecked and reequipped<br />
by Emergency Nursing Staff.<br />
