DEPUTY <strong>EMERGENCY</strong> CO-ORDINATOR<br />

CODE GREEN<br />

• On notification <strong>of</strong> Code Green, ensure rear lifts have been isolated – Lift 7<br />

should be returned to the ground floor, to be accessed ONLY by Deputy Coordinator<br />

with control key.<br />

• Don tabard (vest) identifying position,<br />

• Arrange for a staff member to await the arrival <strong>of</strong> emergency service personnel<br />

to provide directions (if required);<br />

• Obtain site plan from Security <strong>of</strong>fice drawer and proceed to Lift 7 (on ground<br />

floor), rendezvous with Emergency Co-ordinator.<br />

Personal safety is paramount - If safe to do so.<br />

• Proceed to level 3 / In-Patient Services Building.<br />

• Liaise with Area Warden.<br />

• Provide SITREPS to Emergency Co-ordination Centre (as events unfold or at<br />

least every 15 minutes).<br />

• Liaise with Senior Corrections Officer.<br />

• Liaise with Senior Police Officer.<br />

• Enter the Corrections Control Room.<br />

• Remain at location (in a safe position) to liaise with Emergency Co-ordinator,<br />

Senior Corrections Officer, Police and assist Area Warden with tasks.<br />

• Advise Emergency Co-ordination Centre when all clear to be given.<br />

• Arrange immediate replacement/rectification <strong>of</strong> used / damaged equipment.<br />

• Provide a report on the incident to the Risk Management.<br />
