CODE PURPLE<br />
BY PERSON(S) ON SITE<br />
RECIPIENT OF THREAT<br />
• Evaluate the person(s) making the threats.<br />
• Has the person a complaint against the Hospital or particular staff?<br />
• Is he under the influence <strong>of</strong> alcohol or other drugs?<br />
• Was the threat made in a joking manner?<br />
• Take particular note <strong>of</strong> appearance, clothing, age and identifying marks.<br />
• Immediately notify SWITCHBOARD:<br />
Call Switchboard on 2444 and advise:<br />
• Type <strong>of</strong> emergency (CODE<br />
PURPLE)<br />
• Exact location <strong>of</strong> threat<br />
• Complete Bomb Threat Check List and await instructions from Emergency<br />
Co-ordinator.<br />
• Be available to report to the Emergency Co-ordination Centre for Police interview<br />
when required.<br />
