Respond Yellow<br />

PERSON INITIATING RESPONSE – CODE YELLOW ACTION<br />

If cause has been confirmed<br />

• Rescue / move persons in immediate danger to safety.<br />

• Stand upwind / uphill from plumes / fumes.<br />

• Warn others in area quietly, DO NOT SHOUT emergency / code details.<br />

• Secure area, prevent unauthorised access by others to the affected area.<br />

• If hazardous substances are involved, Break glass alarm and press button<br />

• Dial 2444, report "RESPOND YELLOW ACTION" give your name, the location<br />

<strong>of</strong> the incident and all relevant details.<br />

• If possible, state exact nature <strong>of</strong> any substance(s) involved, fault, incident. e.g.<br />

type <strong>of</strong> chemical, utilities failure etc.<br />

• Notify Area Warden or Senior Person present <strong>of</strong> emergency.<br />

• REMAIN CALM.<br />

AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM AREA WARDEN.<br />
