4.3.2 Consultation arrangements<br />
The <strong>Statistics</strong> Council represents a range of stakeholders and users, and meets four times a year to provide advice to the<br />

to represent the needs of their constituency and should therefore consult with them to ensure sound advice to the Minister<br />
and the Statistician-General.<br />
Stats SA has established a number of advisory committees comprising of key stakeholders that meet periodically to advise<br />
on statistical series. Stats SA also conducts periodic workshops in order to seek advice, comments and suggestions from<br />
broader stakeholder groups.<br />
The National <strong>Statistics</strong> System division is in the process of establishing partnerships with organs of state aimed at ensuring<br />
coherence in statistical information produced by different producers of statistics, and promoting the use of statistics in<br />
evidence-based decision-making.<br />

4.4.1 Information Communication and Technology Strategy<br />
Stats SA has over time become a knowledge-based driven organisation. Its core business is about data and information<br />
within a highly technological environment. The IT environment should be dynamic and must play a key role in improving the<br />
