8. Over the medium term, the main goal of this priority is to ensure that<br />

our foreign relations contribute to the creation of an environment conducive to economic growth and domestic development<br />

<br />

promoting <strong>South</strong>ern <strong>Africa</strong>n Development Community (SADC) regional integration, strengthening <strong>South</strong>-<strong>South</strong> relations<br />

and pursuing a developmental and investment-oriented approach to engagements with the North, are key aspects related<br />

to this priority.<br />

9. Like the rest of the world, we are vulnerable to the impacts of climate<br />

provide a credible raft of indices, indicators and information that increases the knowledge platforms, creates possibilities<br />

for understanding, and tackles challenges of development over time and space, creating economic, environmental and<br />

social values. These phenomenal developments are possible when evidence systems – and in particular statistics – are<br />

a burning platform for transforming society. <strong>Statistics</strong> and a developmental state are coterminous concepts.<br />
