Nash that we would redeploy elements of TF 3-325 when<br />
their capability could be replaced by 1st Armored Division<br />
elements. The size of TF 3-325 <strong>in</strong>creased dur<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>itial<br />
deployment to a high of approximately 920 soldiers on<br />
December 27, 1995, and then decreased steadily until the<br />
redeployment of the ma<strong>in</strong> body. This mann<strong>in</strong>g policy<br />
affected primarily the follow<strong>in</strong>g elements of TF 3-325:<br />
• The LION Brigade Forward Support Company (-)<br />
assisted <strong>in</strong> operations of the Arrival Airfield Control<br />
Group, materiel handl<strong>in</strong>g equipment services,<br />
ma<strong>in</strong>tenance services, and medical services.<br />
• The 3-325 ABCT Mess Section operated the TF<br />
EAGLE D<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Facility.<br />
• D Battery, 319th Field Artillery Regiment provided<br />
fire support.<br />
• The Heavy Eng<strong>in</strong>eer Platoon provided road repair<br />
and limited construction capability.<br />
These elements redeployed, sometimes <strong>in</strong> groups of two<br />
or three soldiers, directly from Tuzla Airbase to Aviano<br />
Airbase on the C-130s that made resupply runs several<br />
times a week. D Battery and the Heavy Eng<strong>in</strong>eer Platoon<br />
redeployed as units.<br />
By the end of January 1996, the 1st Armored Division<br />
Artillery and sufficient eng<strong>in</strong>eer assets were deployed <strong>in</strong><br />
Bosnia to provide complete coverage <strong>in</strong> the TF EAGLE<br />
sector. Therefore, D Battery prepared for redeployment<br />
dur<strong>in</strong>g the last week of January and departed Tuzla on<br />
C-130s on January 31. The Heavy Eng<strong>in</strong>eer Platoon<br />
redeployed to Aviano on February 7.<br />
The troopers of D Battery and the Heavy Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<br />
Platoon had endured the snow, ra<strong>in</strong>, and knee-deep mud <strong>in</strong><br />
order to do their job. Throughout the operation, D Battery<br />
was always ready to provide responsive and accurate fires,<br />
and the eng<strong>in</strong>eers demonstrated perseverance and<br />
