All of the municipality’s Intangible Assets are held under freehold interests and no Intangible Assets had been pledged
as security for any liabilities of the municipality.
No restrictions apply to any of the Intangible Assets of the municipality.
Refer to Appendix “B” for more detail on Intangible Assets.
7.1 Intangible Assets with Indefinite Useful Lives
There are no classes of Intangible Assets regarded as having indefinite useful lives and all Intangible Assets are
amortised.
7.2 Impairment of Intangible Assets
The municipality has not tested its items of Intangible Assets for any potential impairment losses on assets.
Furthermore, no review of the useful lives or depreciation methods applied to items of Intangible Assets has been
performed. The afore-mentioned actions have not been carried out by the municipality due to the exemptions
granted in terms of ASB Directive 4, March 2009.

In terms of the MFMA no Car Loans are granted to officials anymore. The outstanding amount is in respect of loans
granted before 01 July 2005 and will continue until all loans have been repaid.
