4.3.7 REANIMATOR (L)<br />
Casual observers might mistake a<br />
Reanimator’s workroom for a surgery<br />
equipped with operating table,<br />
surgical instruments, and all the<br />
paraphernalia of the doctor. Indeed<br />
many Reanimators are physicians<br />
who have strayed far from traditional medicine into the<br />
more dangerous studies of corpse dissection, reassembly,<br />
and revivification. Their body snatching activities<br />
make Reanimators unwelcome and abhorred in most<br />
communities, forcing them to practice their art in utmost<br />
secrecy lest they be accused of necromancy (or<br />
worse) and lynched by the local populace.<br />
Cassaria crouched behind the gravestone as the fog<br />
closed in. The plan had seemed so simple. Wait until<br />
nightfall, dodge the guard patrol, enter the graveyard,<br />
dig up the paupers’ bodies, and get out again.<br />
It would have been simple, were it not for the<br />
