SCOPE & PURPOSE<br />

To provide guidelines for required reporting <strong>procedure</strong>s, improve incident documentation and provide for<br />

the immediate dissemination of the information.<br />

Documentation pertaining to a response to a Hazardous Materials incident is extremely important for<br />

several reasons including but limited to the following reasons:<br />

1) It is required by law to keep incident information filed and accessible for possible litigation and<br />

personnel health records requests.<br />

2) It is required for billing purposes to reclaim expenses incurred at an incident.<br />

3) It is required for chemical release, spill, or Hazardous Situation information for the Brazos<br />

County Inter-jurisdictional Emergency Management plan.<br />

REQUIRED HAZARDOUS MATERIALS REPORTS<br />

In addition to the normal incident report, the following reports must be completed if applicable:<br />

1) Brazos County Inter-jurisdictional Emergency Management Hazardous Reporting Form.<br />

2) C.S.F.D.’s Hazardous Materials Incident Cost Recovery Reports.<br />

3) Any checklist, injury reports, accident reports, damage reports, etc.<br />

REQUIRED HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT REPORTING INFORMATION<br />

1) Hazardous Materials Incident Responses<br />

A) Complete a detailed incident report.<br />

Note! All associated incident paperwork must be kept and filed with report i.e. Safety report,<br />

copies of injury reports, cost recovery reports, incident checklist, etc.<br />

B) Brazos County Inter-jurisdictional Emergency Management Hazardous Reporting Form.(See<br />

attached for specific reporting requirements.<br />
