It is the duty and responsibility of all Fire Department personnel, whether on duty or off, to assist<br />

in any emergency within Brazos County in which they have the training knowledge or expertise<br />

to lessen a hazard to any person or property. This shall include individual efforts, as well as<br />

assisting any other safety organization. The employee is considered to be on duty while assisting<br />

with emergencies inside of Brazos County and is covered under city insurance during these<br />

periods. (Exception: This does not apply if the employee is in the employment of or is a member<br />

of an agency that is charged with handling the emergency. Examples: Working for another<br />

ambulance service or volunteering for another <strong>fire</strong> <strong>department</strong>)<br />

Employees of the <strong>department</strong> will conduct themselves properly at all times. They should not<br />

participate in any activity, on or off duty, which is likely to discredit or reflect unfavorably on<br />

themselves or the <strong>department</strong>. Public criticism or ridicule of the <strong>department</strong> is strongly<br />

discouraged.<br />

Employees of the <strong>department</strong> should maintain a high level of integrity and courtesy with the<br />

public and with other members of the <strong>department</strong>.<br />
