• Expand the list by asking each <strong>of</strong> the community participants to identify other associations that she<br />
knows about. If known, list the leaders and name the person among the community participants<br />
who is best connected to the leader <strong>of</strong> the association.<br />
• Talk about the importance <strong>of</strong> associations in people’s lives. Talk about how connected everyone is<br />
when you can see how many associations they have joined. Talk about what makes an association<br />
important.<br />
• Once the community participants have drafted a comprehensive list <strong>of</strong> the associations that exist in<br />
the community, it may be useful to illustrate their relative size (membership) and importance to the<br />
overall community life.<br />
