Overview
This chapter covers the qualifications of Installers and System Administrators and provides an
overview of the Stratagy iES32, ES4, ES80, ES96, and ES96R.
Note
Unless otherwise noted in this book, references to Stratagy ES apply to all product
models—iES32, ES4, ES80, ES96, ES96R. References to standalone models refer to all
models except the iES32.
Stratagy iES32
The Stratagy iES32 voice processing is a circuit card that runs Stratagy Enterprise Server Release
3 software on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Embedded operating software.
It is an advanced voice processing system designed specifically for operation with the Toshiba
Strata CTX670 and CTX100 telephone systems. It supports 4~32 ports and installs in Strata CTX
Base or Expansion Cabinet card slots.
The card consists of a motherboard with an Intel® Pentium® processor and a daughterboard with
a hard drive and resources to support up to 16 voice ports. A second 16-port daughterboard can be
added to reach the maximum 32 ports available. This daughterboard ships with four ports installed
to make a total of 20 ports.
An iES32 with a second daughterboard installed requires two card slots in the Strata CTX base or
expansion cabinet. Additional ports are added remotely as electronic upgrades by Toshiba. The
iES32 is configured in increments of four ports (i.e., 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, and 32).
Each iES32 has been preprogrammed at the factory for out-of-box operation on the Strata CTX.
This includes the KSU integration and configuration parameters, and company greeting and
instructions.
The iES32 requires Stratagy ES Administration Release 3 software installed on a separate
Windows® 2000/ME/98 or Windows NT computer for remote administration over a network.
Voice mail integration is provided by Toshiba Proprietary Integration (TPI). This proprietary
integration provides interoperability between the iES32 and the Strata CTX using information
provided on the Strata CTX data bus, the built-in network connection and RS-232 connection. A
BSIS port programmed for Simplified Message Desk Interface (SMDI) is required in the CTX.
Stratagy ES4, ES80, ES96, and ES96R
Stratagy ES standalone models are Intel® processor-based platforms running the Microsoft
Windows NT 4.0 operating system. Stratagy ES comes in four hardware configurations. Each
platform is designed to accept one or more ISA-based peripheral boards from Dialogic®. There are
also PCI slots in each system that are set aside for other peripheral devices, i.e., Network Interface
Card (NIC).
Stratagy ES4 is a desktop PC equipped with a Celeron® processor located on a motherboard with
one shared ISA/PCI slot providing a maximum capacity of four voice ports. The ES4 ships
