Step 4: Configure the Serial Port Connected to Strata CTX
1. Click on the Serial Ports tab of Configuration Properties in Stratagy ES Administration.
2. From the Port Name column, select the Serial port on the system that is connected to the
Strata CTX.
3. Configure the Serial Port Default Settings to be consistent with the configuration of the
corresponding serial port of the Strata CTX. Cross-reference with RS-232C Data Port
Assignment - Program 804 of the Strata CTX.
Step 5: Verify/Configure Windows NT Networking of the
Stratagy ES for SNMP Communication with Strata CTX
Note The SNMP Service should have been installed at the factory, however this should be
verified. If SNMP needs to be installed, the Microsoft Windows NT CD-ROM that was
provided with the Stratagy ES system will be required.
1. From the Desktop of the Stratagy ES, right click
on the Network Neighborhood icon.
2. Click Properties.
3. Select the Services tab. Check to see if SNMP
Service is listed. If so, you are finished and do
not need to do anything further.
If not, proceed to Substep 4 below.
4. Click Add.
5. From the Select Network Service list, select
SNMP Service, and click OK.

6. Insert the Windows NT CD-ROM into the
system, and click OK.
7. After the service is installed, a SNMP Properties page is presented. No entry is required. Click
OK to complete the installation.
8. Click OK to perform a shutdown and restart of Windows NT. Continue to Step 6 below.
Step 6: Re-install Windows NT Service Pack 6
1. Insert the Stratagy ES Software CD-ROM into the system.
2. From the Software Menu, select Windows NT SP5.
3. Follow the instructions given in the Installation Wizard.
When the installation is complete, click Restart on the Windows NT Service Pack Setup screen. The
system reboots.
