Voice and Resource Board Installation
T1 Voice Boards
Install D/240SC-T1 Voice Board
1. Port Address – Set the board identification number by turning the rotary switch SW100 (see
Figure 13-18) to one of the 16 board ID settings: 0~9, A~F. If more than one T1card is being
used in the Stratagy ES, it is recommended you set the board ID sequentially, in ascending
order.
Important! Each board in the Stratagy ES must have a unique ID number for the system to
communicate with the board. Start with the lowest number possible (i.e., 0) and do
NOT duplicate ID numbers.
Board Installation
CAUTION! If you find a PEB Terminator on the board’s XTERM Socket (Figure 13-6),
remove it. The board in SCbus mode is terminated internally and does not
require a terminator. If left on the board, the terminator causes the board to not
function properly in the Stratagy ES.
2. Select an empty ISA bus slot. Remove the slot’s retaining screw and access cover plate. Keep
the cover plate for possible future use.
3. Insert the board’s edge connector into the slot. Press firmly until the board is securely seated in
place. Replace and tighten the retaining screw.
4. (Optional) To connect the D/240SC-T1 board to other SCbus boards in the system, plug the
SCbus cable into the P4 connector (Figure 13-7).
Note
The connectors can only fit together one way. If the connector does not go on easily, turn it
around.
5. Attach the cable to the next board(s). If the cable has extra connectors or loose cable, tuck the
cable down and out of the way.
Note
Both ends of the cable must be used. Connectors between boards do not have to be
connected.
6. Repeat this procedure for each D/240SC-T1 board you are installing.
7. If this is a new Stratagy ES installation, go to Step 3: Complete Stratagy ES Hardware Setup
on page 2-8 to continue the system installation procedure
...or if you are adding a new board(s) to an existing system, proceed to “D/240SC-T1 Voice
Board” on page 13-18 to configure the board(s) you just added.
