Stratagy ES Database Manual Backup/Restore Procedure
4. In the Registry Editor under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID, scroll
down to the following entry: {a48cdec83-0b5b-44ad-b966-92c699c4d34f} (shown below).
5. Click on the Registry selection from the Main Menu.
6. From the available options, select Export Registry File.
7. Save the key to the desired location. This can include a network drive or a floppy-disk drive.
8. Label the key with a file name that easily identifies it as a key from a specific system. A dialog
box displays telling you that the information has been entered into the registry successfully.
Step 3: Back Up the Stratagy ES Database
Important! If Steps 1 and 2 were performed, then the Stratagy ES database must be backed up at
the same time. If one or the other is backed up at a later date they may be out of
synch with each other, which makes the backup incomplete and of little use.
1. Using Windows Explorer locate the C:\Stratagy ES folder. The sub-folders Database, Messages
and Persistence contain all the pertinent files (except the registry key) that are necessary for the
Stratagy ES service to run properly.
2. Use the File Copy command to copy each of the above folders to the desired location on the
network.
3. Store this information, along with the registry key (created in Steps 1 and 2 above) in a safe
place.
Step 4: Restore the Stratagy ES Registry Key
Important! Do not attempt to restore a Stratagy ES4, ES80, ES96 or ES96R registry key to an
iES32 or vice versa. Registry keys for these products are not interchangeable.
1. Use Windows Explorer to copy the backup file from where you stored it in Step 1: “Back Up
the Registry Key for Stratagy ES Data” to the target machine.
2. Double-click the Registry Key (*.reg). The key automatically loads without any further action
from you.
3. The Registry Editor confirms a successful restore.
