Voice and Resource Board Installation
T1 Voice Boards
Install D/240PCI-T1 Voice Board
1. Port Address – No action is required by you if you choose to use the geographical assignment
of the board ID.
Geographical Assignment – The board ID number is set automatically by the system based on
the geographical assignment (PCI bus and slot number). This method is not available for ISA
bus boards.
Notes
• When boards are added to the system board IDs can change, depending upon the location of the
new board.
• Board IDs set using geographical assignment are assigned a number before those set using the
manual assignment method.
Manual Assignment – Set the board ID number by turning the rotary switch SW100 (see Figure
13-19) to one of the 16 board ID settings: 0~9, A~F. If more than one T1card is being used in
the Stratagy ES, it is recommended you set the board ID sequentially, in ascending order.
Important! Each board in the Stratagy ES must have a unique ID number for the system to
communicate with the board. Start with the lowest number possible (i.e., 0) and do
NOT duplicate ID numbers.
2. Select an empty PCI bus slot. Remove the slot’s retaining screw and access cover plate. Keep
the cover plate for possible future use.
3. Insert the board’s edge connector into the slot. Press firmly until the board is securely seated in
place. Replace and tighten the retaining screw.
4. (Optional) To connect the D/240PCI-T1 board to other CT Bus boards in the system, plug the
CT Bus cable into the CT Bus Edge connector (Figure 13-19).
Board Installation
Note
The connectors can only fit together one way. If the connector does not go on easily, turn it
around.
5. Attach the cable to the next CT Bus board(s). If the cable has extra connectors or loose cable,
tuck the cable down and out of the way.
Notes
• Both ends of the cable must be used. Connectors between boards do not have to be connected.
• If your system includes both CT Bus and SCbus boards, you can connect both types by
installing a CT Bus/SCbus Adapter on one of the CT Bus boards in the system. The Adapter
must be purchased separately.
6. Repeat this procedure for each D/240PCI-T1 board you are installing.
7. If this is a new Stratagy ES installation, go to Step 3: Complete Stratagy ES Hardware Setup
on page 2-8 to continue the system installation procedure
...or if you are adding a new board(s) to an existing system, proceed to “D/240PCI-T1 Voice
Board” on page 13-20 to configure the board(s) you just added.
