Stratagy ES Hardware for Standalone Models
Stratagy ES Hardware for Standalone Models
Stratagy ES’s architecture facilitates integration of additional hardware requirements. The internal
components vary depending on configuration. All external connectors and wiring are customer
supplied.
Note In order to maintain Stratagy ES system integrity, customer-supplied anti-virus software
should be resident and active on any PC that is connected to the Stratagy ES.
A basic ES80, ES96 or ES96R (rack-mountable chassis) system supports from four to 48 voice
ports. As an option with the MVP Application Suite up to 48 additional voice ports can be added
(49~96). ES4 supports two~four voice ports.
Stratagy ES does not come with pre-installed voice boards. Voice boards are ordered with the
system and boxed separately.
Note ES4 can only use a ProLine/2V, Dialog/4 or Dialog/41ESC voice board.
All Stratagy ES systems are equipped with 15GB hard drives that can offer a maximum voice
storage capacity of 900 hours. Available voice and/or data application storage is dependent upon
hard drive size, installed software to support some Feature Groups (e.g., Fax Server, ASR) and
customer applications. Storage capacities are not software blocked in Stratagy ES. Therefore, in the
future, if a larger drive is employed, voice storage capacity will be increased proportionally.
Note Though Windows NT does not typically enable a primary partition of a hard drive to
exceed 4GB, a custom process is used to open up the entire capacity of the Stratagy ES
hard drives.
The platform utilizes an Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) bus and Peripheral Component
Interconnect (PCI) bus expansion slots for required equipment. The hard drive of every Stratagy ES
is enclosed in a removable hard drive bay for easy access and maintenance.
Important! The key lock for the hard disk drive must be in the locked position before the hard
drive is operational.
Stratagy ES Software Platform Configurations
The Stratagy ES can be ordered factory loaded with either Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 or
Windows NT Workstation 4.0.
Because Windows NT Workstation is limited to a maximum of 10 network client licenses, the
Stratagy ES with Windows NT Workstation is recommended for:
• Installations requiring increased voice port capacities above the DOS-based Stratagy systems
• Advanced voice processing applications requiring the power of Windows NT but not requiring
multiple network client connections
The Stratagy ES with Windows NT Workstation is recommended for installations requiring
increased voice port capacities above the DOS-based Stratagy systems or advanced voice
processing applications requiring the power of Windows NT but not requiring multiple network
client connections.
Important! Toshiba does not furnish Windows NT software for a Workstation to Server upgrade.
Therefore, a customer’s requirement for future client-based features should be
closely scrutinized before ordering a Stratagy ES with Windows NT Workstation.
The Stratagy ES running Windows NT Server is recommended for larger installations requiring
communication with a number of client PCs on a network. For example, in UM multiple client PCs
must have network access to the Stratagy ES to receive voice and fax messages on the PC desktop.
