The battery on the iES32 baseboard cannot be replaced in the field.
Replacement of the battery with an incorrect type creates the risk of
explosion.

Prior to Installing/Upgrading
1. We recommend that you back up your database prior to starting any installation or upgrading
procedure. (See “Backup” on page 16-2.)
2. Make sure the set of upgrade software you received is the correct version for your system.
3. Make sure you have all the necessary parts and tools.
4. Since all of the procedures require Stratagy be out-of-service, coordinate with the customer a
time for Stratagy ES to be taken off line.
5. Before removing and replacing components, you need to know:
• How to safely open a PC in order to install/remove cards in the computer.
• How to identify basic components of a PC: e.g., motherboard, video board, controller board,
voice board, disk drives, power supply, cables.
