II. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONC. RELATED PROJECTS AND STUDIESThis section describes <strong>SFPUC</strong> projects and studies involving the <strong>Watershed</strong>. Other projects (non-<strong>SFPUC</strong>) affecting the <strong>Watershed</strong> are described in the Cumulative Impacts section of this EIR(Section III.P).1.0 ALAMEDA CREEK WATER RESOURCES STUDY•The <strong>Alameda</strong> Creek Water Resources Study (ACWRS) was developed to investigate theconditions of <strong>Alameda</strong> Creek, particularly with respect to fisheries enhancement. The ACWRSwas completed in January 1995 and was not prepared as part of the <strong>Alameda</strong> <strong>Watershed</strong><strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>. However, the goals of the ACWRS and the <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> werecoordinated, and the recommendations set forth in the ACWRS were developed to consider thebroad goals of the <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>. The ACWRS resulted in the establishment of aMemorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the California Department of Fish and Game(CDFG). The MOU obligates the <strong>SFPUC</strong> to move forward with the recommendations for aestablishing a water release and recapture facility for fisheries enhancement along <strong>Alameda</strong> andCalaveras Creeks between the Calaveras Dam and the vicinity of the Sunol WTP. The projectleveldescription, construction information, and other critical details are being developed.Separate environmental review will be prepared for this project.2.0 WATER SUPPLY MASTER PLAN AND OTHER PROJECTSThe <strong>SFPUC</strong> is in the process of preparing an overall Water Supply Master <strong>Plan</strong> that will addresswater supply and storage for the entire water system and will result in projects that will undergoseparate environmental review. In addition, the <strong>SFPUC</strong> is undertaking the following projects onthe <strong>Alameda</strong> <strong>Watershed</strong>. These projects are discussed further in Section III.P of this EIR.!
