He operated Steve'sPackage Store in <strong>Burlington</strong> for many years and owned and operated a fleet <strong>of</strong> school busesthere for over 30 years, the first year without charge. Besides his mother, he leaves his wife,Mrs. Josephine Kalisz Sikorski; three sons, Steven S. Jr. and Edward, both <strong>of</strong> Simsbury andHenry with the U.S. Army in Fort Riley, KS; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Kula <strong>of</strong> Farmington; fourbrothers, Frank Sikorski and John Micksa, both <strong>of</strong> Collinsville and Walter Micksa and TheodoreMicksa, both <strong>of</strong> Farmington; six sisters, Mrs. Violet Muzyksi, Mrs. Frances Zils, Mrs. LauraKautta all <strong>of</strong> Collinsville; Mrs. Josephine Bombara <strong>of</strong> New Hartford, Mrs. Pauline Gregerick <strong>of</strong>Unionville and Mrs. Anna Tiffany <strong>of</strong> California. The son <strong>of</strong> the late E.J. and the late Lilly (Burritt) Skinner. He lived inDetroit the past 30 years. He was a retired artist with D.P.Brothers Advertising Co. Detroit. Heonce served as a civilian glider and flight instructor in TX, and was a lay preacher <strong>of</strong> BethesdaMissionary Temple, Detroit. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Barnes Skinner, a daughter, Mrs.Richard Kaniewski <strong>of</strong> Detroit; a son, Elihu Barnes Skinner <strong>of</strong> Tacoma, WA; a brother Sherrod E.Skinner, retired vice-president <strong>of</strong> General Motors Corp., now living in Cape Cod and 4grandchildren. The only daughter <strong>of</strong> Ann M. and the late Hubert N.Smith, was born (1883) and educatedhere. Besides her mother, she leaves three brothers, George <strong>of</strong> Avon, Robert <strong>of</strong> Canton, Fred <strong>of</strong><strong>Burlington</strong>. Burial in Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.SMITH, GEORGE WILLIAM, 80 formerly <strong>of</strong> Main Street Avon, died at the home <strong>of</strong> his son,Charles L., <strong>Burlington</strong> Road, <strong>Burlington</strong> (2-11-1962). Born in <strong>Burlington</strong>,(2-20-1881), he lived inAvon most <strong>of</strong> his life. He was a painting contractor for 60 years.
