Herb was the beloved husband <strong>of</strong> Audrey (St. John)Weaver, a father, grand- father, great-grandfather, local spindle machine tool manufacturer,former second selectman <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, tree farmer and avid golfer. He was born May 27, 1923,in South Boston, MA, son <strong>of</strong> the late Everett and Margaret (Coyman) Weaver. He spent most <strong>of</strong>his career in the machine tool industry. He was co-owner and corporate secretary <strong>of</strong> WhitnonManufacturing Company <strong>of</strong> Farmington designing machine tool spindles used in themanufacturing <strong>of</strong> most products from razor blades to aircraft parts. He continued his career inlater years with Grosite Industries. A graduate <strong>of</strong> Weaver High School, Hartford, he attendedHillyer College . and Army War College. He obtained the rank <strong>of</strong> 1st. Lt. in the Army Air Corpsserving with the 455th Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force, 304th Wing, (the subject <strong>of</strong> theStephen Ambrose book, The Wild Blue.) He was awarded a number <strong>of</strong> Campaign and AirMedals. He was in Europe for V.E. Day and saw the German Army surrender in the Po RiverValley, Italy. Herb was always involved in the community. In addition to his years as secondselectman, he served as President <strong>of</strong> the Lake Garda Improvement Association, <strong>Burlington</strong> Plan& Zoning Board and helped to found <strong>Burlington</strong> Senior Citizens. He served as the businessmanager <strong>of</strong> the Congregational Church in <strong>Burlington</strong> and on the Board <strong>of</strong> Spring Lake VillageAssociation. He was also a Royal Arch Mason; Besides his wife <strong>of</strong> 60 years, he will be missedby four daughters, Nancy Stowell and husband Peter <strong>of</strong> Pottstown, PA, Pamela Barber andhusband John <strong>of</strong> Avon, Cynthia Kellerstedt and husband Daniel <strong>of</strong> Watertown and MelindaBelcher and husband Duncan <strong>of</strong> Woodbury.
